Chandler, Ariz.-based Microchip said late Tuesday that it earned an adjusted $1.16 a share, up 66% year over year, on sales of $902.7 million, up 62%, in its fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31. Analysts expected it to earn $1.06 a share on sales of $891.2 million.
For the current quarter, Microchip expects to earn $1.22 a share, up 45%, on sales of $943 million, up 18%, based on the midpoint of its guidance.
Microchip makes microcontroller, mixed-signal, analog and other semiconductor products for automotive, industrial and other applications.
